As mothers, we tend to like to dress up our children. In fact, we don’t just dress them, we dress them to match us, or to accessorize or accent what we already have on. I found that to be true. Last Sunday at church I was wearing a black dress, no accessories, but Zion was wearing this beautiful little baby dress and she had these hot pink tights to go with her little black shiney shoes. And then it was another mother who pointed out that as I was holding Zion, and her leg was drapped over my black sleeve on my arm. That that was just a stunning combination. And I realized then, that it’s true, that as I dress my children,they are a reflection of me. And as I dress my children that I do take into account, that as I dress my children I take in to account what I am wearing so we are just exstention of each other. But already my children are gaining opinions and sometimes want to wear things that I don’t have in mind for them. But I think I’m willing to give that up that option of using my own children as my accessories, because they are individuals and they want to diferenciate themselves from myself. And I’m okay with that.
