Welcome to MomThought, I’m Joan Romero at MomThought.com   Thanks for joining me today.  Today’s MomThought is, The Gene Pool. 

With the holidays we tend to spend more time with our extended family, and it’s so much fun for me to see the gene pool.  And to realize that we have this great pallet of characteristics to choose from.  We have all these personalities, and strengths, and weakness, and that we have all this family history, and traditions to pick and choose from. 

We can say, “Okay, these are the things that I want now in my family” and “these are the things that I’m willing to let go of”. 

But it’s nice to get together and be reminded that a lot of this stuff is coming from somewhere.  It is somewhere in this gene pool where our family has come from.  And there are others out there that aren’t so dissimilar from ourselves.
